A question that I get asked often is ‘What made me decide to become an Entrepreneur?’

That answer is both simple and complicated.

I will give you the simple answer first.

I lost my corporate job and had a decision to make which was to go for it and become an entrepreneur or go back to the corporate world.

This is how 90% of Entrepreneurs get started — life challenges you with a choice and you decide to jump.

After spending 10 years climbing the corporate ladder and achieving success, I was ultimately tired of working extremely hard for someone else and being a slave to certain hours and days.

I was tired of getting screwed around with my pay.

I was tired of working the same hours, day in and day out.

I was tired of being limited to my holiday time.

So when I was presented with an opportunity to take the leap of becoming my own boss and doing whatever Entrepreneurs do, I went for it.

This also happened at a time in my life when I had a few years under my belt. I had known what it was like to work the corporate life.

Climbing my way up, thinking it was all about money, being restricted in my time freedom.

I also knew what it was like to be fired, let go, and to have quit multiple jobs.

The 10 years I spent working the corporate world allowed me to work many different jobs and gain wisdom in all kinds of areas.

Which also helped in my decision to officially become an Entrepreneur.

I learned everything from Sales and Marketing to Business and Wealth.

So the simple answer is, I decided to finally become an Entrepreneur when I lost my job and decided it was time to become my own boss.

Now the complicated answer of deciding to become an Entrepreneur is this…

I always knew I wanted to be an Entrepreneur (my own boss).

I always knew I wanted to be an Entrepreneur, I just didn’t know that’s what it is what called (I mean what is an Entrepreneur any ways).

[ Entrepreneur: An entrepreneur is an individual who creates a new business, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures.]

I was just someone who wanted to be her own boss. I wanted the ability to make the money I wanted, I wanted to make my schedule, and I wanted to be in control of my time and how I lived my life.

I had no idea it was basically what Entrepreneurs are and do.

When I was 19 years old I dropped out of college with a belief that I could make it.

I was going to drop out of college, find a good corporate job, and also work on becoming a motivational speaking.

[ Yup, motivational speaker = Entrepreneur (Personal Brand + Product) ]

This is the complicated and frustrating part about this question because I always wanted to become an Entrepreneur ever since I can remember, but really since I was 19.

And it took me 10 years to make it happen.

Instead I went down the corporate road which was both lame and beneficial (Looking back now, I see the value of my time in the corporate world).

The whole time I was working in the corporate world I was thinking about how I could be my own boss. I would fantasize about the type of business I would have.

Early on I did have my first real taste of being an ‘Entrepreneur’. I was in a Network Marketing Company, MonaVie.

Even though it was not my product, I was learning how to market something, organize the back end, and show up consistently to move the needle forward.

I was promoting someone else’s product and was being compensated for it. I was in charge of the money I could make.

After having some success in that business after a short time, my younger life took over and I went back to the corporate world and lived my life.

And not a bad life at that. I was fortunate to have a great corporate job that paid me well and allowed me to do many of the things I wanted.

Like drive the nice cars, take the fun vacations, live in the nice spaces, travel whenever I wanted.

But I always had this desire to be my own boss.

I wanted time freedom. I wanted to be able to call the shots. I wanted to create impact.

So after 10 years and the universe providing me a position to JUMP, I jumped.

I made the decision to become an Entrepreneur after 10 years of thinking about it.

At the time, I honestly didn’t really know what that meant and I had no business idea ready.

But the time seemed to be right and I said YES to trying.

Fast Forward 2 years and I have the business I always wanted and I am about to step onto stages, which is ultimately the dream I have always had (motivational speaking).

If there is anything I have learned about Entrepreneurship and deciding when to step into this space it is this;

If you have a desire to work for yourself, you have a desire to be in control of your whole life, then you have a desire to be an Entrepreneur and the time will never be right.

If you have the thought and want to become an Entrepreneur, then it is your duty to go for it.

Is it going to be easy? F*ck NO!

Is it going to test every part of you and require a massive transformation of oneself? YES!

But is this what we are all here to do? ABSOLUTELY!

You and I were put here to become Entrepreneurs. We have all been put here with a purpose to be creative in some way and deliver something to the world that is of the highest good.

We are supposed to be living our lives like we are successful Entrepreneurs.

In control. Happy. Abundant. Successful. Aligned. Joyful. All of the good stuff.

We were put here to have a lifestyle that Successful Entrepreneurs can have.

So when I think about deciding to become an Entrepreneur I think that we all have this desire the become one.

And it really comes down to the fact that some people execute on the idea, the unknown and just try, and some people just think about wanting change in their life, year after year.

Just like you, I have always had a desire to work for myself. I have always had a desire to live my best life and create impact.

After 10 years of gaining valuable experience that I would never trade for anything, I was presented with the moment to jump into the unknown and just try, and I DECIDED to take it.

Which resulted in me becoming an ‘Entrepreneur’, creating my dream business, having growing success, building a solid foundation, and finally be able to speak on stages.

Being an Entrepreneur when done right, allows you to live all of your dreams and desires.

Being an Entrepreneur allows you to have impact, be creative, live abundantly, and do what you want, If you want it to.

Being an Entrepreneur is what everyone is here to become.

The person who decides to gain control of their life, bring something to the market, and go all in on themselves, is the person who gets to live the life of their choosing.

But at the end of the day, this decision is not for the faint of heart.

Deciding to become an Entrepreneur is no joke.

After spending 2.5 years being fully in it, I can tell you that this is single handedly the hardest thing I have ever tried to do.

No only has it challenged me mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, I have had to learn a whole new skill set, not only running a business, but learning how to leverage the online space, how to build a personal development company, with a podcast, and all the things I have done.

It has been the craziest thing I have ever done.

I have not experienced such lows as I have. And I have not experiences such highs as I have.

Owning a business that creates massive impact and has the ability to transform someones life is the most amazing thing.

And I am so grateful that it is my business that allows them this transformation.

But it has not come easy and I still have a long road ahead.

I have learned how to ride the waves, learn the lessons, try the scary sh*t, and move confidently in the direction of my desires and dreams daily.

I am learning how to run a successful business, take a product to market, and leverage the online space.

It is a daily choice to not only become an Entrepreneur but also be an Entrepreneur.

Being in control of your life 100% comes with its priorities, like making sure you are always moving forward, becoming better, and stepping into the unknown.

It is a full time job and for a while few will be able to see your end vision and that will come with some heartache, but their opinion does not matter and if you can see it, then you can have it.

So if you are reading this and you are ready to become an Entrepreneur.

You are ready to find out what your jam is, what your purpose is, what you want to bring to this earth.

You are ready to bring a product to the market.

You are ready to be the boss. To own the business. To show up online.

You are ready to step into this place of being an Entrepreneur…..know that it is a wild ride.

But if you stay the course, improve 1% every day, take daily imperfect action, tackle everything that comes your way, gain massive clarity, and constantly be pushing for better, you will overtime achieve what you want.

You can have the business you want.

You can have the time freedom you desire.

You can make all the money you want.

You can do all the things you want.

You can have it all (overtime).

The decision to become an Entrepreneur is not an easy one and it is scary as f*ck. But it is totally worth it.

The decision to become an Entrepreneur was the best choice I ever made and if you are thinking of making this choice, do it. Step into it. Lean into it. Try it on for size.

You won’t ever know if you don’t just go for it!

This is where your business growth and success is found.

Daily habits on things that move your business forward, not stuck, not backwards, but forwards.
